28 Days Later

Apologies to a fun zombie movie for borrowing their title, but, like zombies, this subject just doesn't stop...

28 Articles in 28 Days

The more I talk to people, the more I realize just how little most people know about what happened with Wicked Faire and Steampunk Worlds Fair. There are rumors and speculations, but there is very little actual narrative to be found.

I certainly do not claim to know everything, but I know quite a bit. I have, however, held my tongue for various reasons, most recently that it was felt by some that the best chance for Steampunk Worlds Fair to be saved would be a strategy or reticence. I disagreed then, and I disagree now.

Holding back the truth that I knew while our team and my own family were slandered and threatened was almost more than I could bare, but I did so for the cause of the community which was very important to me.

There's only so long you can hold back.
Now, there is no reason to hold back any longer. Over the next 28 days, I will be sharing 28 articles. Some of them are already written, others are planned but not complete, and many will be developed as the dialog caused by the earlier articles plays out.

It should be noted that every one of these articles is from my perspective and to the best of my knowledge. I may get some details wrong, and I also may make errors, as I am only human. I encourage you to reach out to me if you see anything which you think I should correct.

The first three articles, starting tomorrow morning, Saturday, April 7th, will tell the story from my perspective of what it took to save Wicked Faire.

Other articles that are being planned include:
  • A discussion of the traits that created great success and spectacular failure in Jeff Mach Events
  • Analysis of the three allegations that were brought to our attention
  • A possible way things might have gone if one key point had gone differently just before Wicked Faire
  • The reasoning behind Silver Phoenix Society stepping out of Steampunk Worlds Fair
For reference, I will be creating a Dramatis Personae page which will give a quick bio for each person mentioned in various narratives. If you are included in this page, I am open to your feedback as to how you are characterized. This is my blog, so I will make the final decision regarding all content on it.

For any feedback, you may email me at feedback@michaelwhitehouse.org. Please let me know if there are questions you have or areas you'd like to see a deeper examination of.

If you believe that there is a factual inaccuracy in an article, please email me and I will seek to correct it or at least indicate that a dispute of facts exists.

I look forward to getting the stories, backgrounds, and many facts out there into the public discourse to fill the void of real knowledge that has unfortunately existed for so long.
