The Art of Consent

In light of the #metoo movement, there has been a lot of discussion in public spaces about consent. It’s become a household word, even in the most conservative of homes. But really, what is it and how do you make sure you have it?

In this panel, we will discuss everything regarding consent: consent culture, negotiation, communication of consent and boundaries, and yes, even what to do if someone tells you that you violated their consent. There will also be a Q&A at the end. This panel may contain language and topics of a triggering nature.

Mental Bondage

Traditional bondage is the restraint of a consenting partner using physical means – handcuffs, rope, cuffs, and the like. But that isn’t the only way to bind your partner! Mental bondage is the act of restraint using less obvious tools such as willpower, commands, or even the vivid imagination of your partner. It’s used by all kink skill levels from beginner to I’ve-done-this-my-whole-life, and it is especially good in cases where you or your partner can’t or does not wish to be physically restrained for any reason. (PTSD, injury, bodily limitations, location, or even safety concerns are all reasons physical bondage may not be an option.)

This is an interactive workshop, so attendees are encouraged to bring a consenting partner for learning and practice. Participation is completely optional, so even if you want to just come listen in, please do!
