Can we still sweep shit under the rug? HELL YES. - JeffMach

While there's obviously a specific discussion happening about a specific event right now, this is NOT to call out any one organizer. I'm going to make a simple point, and I'm going to make it to the whole community, about the community.
Someone within that thread said,
"I think (hope?) the scene has reached a point where sweeping shit under the rug isn't going to fly anymore."
NOPE. SORRY, NOPE.
You keep buying the tickets, we'll keep sometimes doing busted things and getting away with it.Because if you buy the tickets either way, it's easier for us not to change, and we have less motivation to care.
This is my post, and in this post, I'll tell you I'm an awesome guy, I don't do busted things, and if I did busted things, I'd apologize and stop. But that's my public face. That's every organizer's public face.Nobody says, "Hey, I'm a dick and I'm not going to listen. They just smile, and nod, and claim to listen.
The reality is, until you actually stop buying tickets to events that allow major fuckups and don't do anything about it, fuckups will continue.
You don't get the kink community that you wish existed. You get the kink community that you invest time, energy, and money in. If your time, energy, and money are supporting places which won't fix problems, then guess what? Problems won't get fixed.

For the many people who've come to me and said, "Jeff, run an event at Camp! We love camp but worry about certain organizations--
I don't want to mess with Ramblewood's schedule. It's impossible to pick any date which doesn't hurt some other party.
However, I am attending, and speaking at, and strongly recommending THE's CROSSROADS kink event at Ramblewood. When an organization has their founders ashes buried at the Labyrinth, I'm going to trust the intentionality of that organization
