Odditorium Carnival

I originally posted about the Odditorium Carnival in March 2026. There have been a lot of new developments in regard to the event. Here is some of the information, much of it thanks to the hard work of the journalist, Cassandra Yorgey.

Here is my quick TL;DR summary: JM attempted to run an event. He did not have insurance, which the venue required. He took money from vendors and refuses to refund. The Village of Ballston Spa denied his permit. JM continues to use old excuses (i.e., doesn't have the money, no criminal charges against him, how dare journalists report on him). Reminder that friends don't let friends attend, vend, or perform at JM events. It's been over 10 years of this rinse/repeat.

Quick news sources: Uncertainty surrounds Odditorium Carnival planned for Saratoga County Fairgrounds

What happened with the now-canceled carnival in Ballston Spa?

As early as March 11, 2026, vendors were backing out of this event, once they became better aware of who JM is and how vendors get treated at these events. "Ticket Candy has placed Mach’s account in a disabled suspension and is conducting an internal investigation of suspicious activity."

March 12, 2026 update, in which JM states that all payments are nonrefundable: "we'll cancel you panel, cancel your appearance, and keep your money."

March 14, 2026 update. JM states that six vendors have requested refunds. CY states that "Vendors seeking reasonable cause to back out may wish to request a copy of the event insurance, which is required by the venue, Saratoga County Fairgrounds." (IMO, that's a valid point. If the venue requires insurance and the event runner doesn't have it, then the vendors aren't assured an event will occur).

March 18, 2026 update. "Rumors and Allegations" page to the event. CY confirmed at least 10 vendors and performers have dropped out, but JM had not removed their info from the event. Furthermore, it seems, per screenshots of an email, that there is a 3rd person involved in the money issues where JM was using their account and they "only just finally managed to cut him off a few days ago."

March 18, 2026 (click for more details, at CY's Facebook): JM signed a Village of Ballston Spa Special Events Application.

March 19, 2026: Vendors keep dropping out and requesting refunds. "Which leads to the third point that this person is placing the blame on Mach’s victims for not personally calling up each and every vendor to talk about a horrible trauma. What the survivors DID was talk to journalists so the information could be public knowledge. I’m one of the journalists. I have personally interviewed, at a rough guess, about 100 people with direct sexual allegations against Mach.

Unfortunately, following the money tends to get more attention."

March 20, 2026 update: Who is the vendor coordinator and whose bank account is connected to what?

March 23, 2026Vendor coordinator vs. bank. Also, "Mach has also switched payment processors, so if anybody would like that investigated please DM me a screenshot of the payment receipt from this new platform."

March 30, 2026: JM submits an amended application.

April 1, 2026: update Interview with Vendor Coordinator.

April 27, 2026: Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Ballston Spa NY

April 29, 2026 update: no permit or event insurance. Also, "The Saratoga County Fairgrounds removed the event listing from their website, and the Village of Ballston Spa removed the Mayoral Office contact information from the official government website."

May 14, 2026 update: "There is one confirmed report that the Village officially denied the event permit."

May 26, 2026 update (AKA "Yes, JM has your money.")

May 27, 2026 update: follow the money. "If this is accurate, the vendor payments went to Frier who alleges she handed it over to Mach. Mach not only made off with the vendor money, but also left Frier holding the bag when the bank took the money back from her account because she already gave it to Mach. Some of that vendor money Mach paid as a deposit to the Saratoga County Fairgrounds. The deposit was to hold the space pending proof of requirements, namely: a copy of his event insurance policy, and a copy of the appropriate permits required by the local government which in this case is the Village of Ballston Spa.
My sources indicate that the Fairgrounds has returned the deposit, and the check has been cashed and cleared. "
